Event Details

On Labor Day, Sept. 7, 2009, tens of thousands of people in communities across the nation will sit down and share a meal with their neighbors. This will be our defining moment to help send a clear message to our nation’s leaders that our children deserve better school lunches. This National Eat-In is our opportunity to take a stand about the food our children eat in school.

We think it will be little bit warm for an outdoor event, so Phoenix is sponsoring an indoor Eat-In for our local supporters and families.

What to bring:

  • a picnic lunch for your family (food, drink, plates, napkins, utensils, a tablecloth if you'd like)*
  • a dessert to share with everyone at our pot luck dessert buffet.

What to do at the event:

  • See a school garden demonstration
  • Take a kids cooking class with a famous local chef**
  • Get more information on food in schools
  • and most importantly, send a message  to our legislators that we want REAL FOOD in SCHOOLS!

Tickets are free, but please sign up so we know how many families are coming to show their support (sign up for one ticket per person including children).
